As seen in The Simpsons

In the episode D'oh Canada from the 30th season of The Simpsons, a scene from Frozen River was referenced.  Marge and Lisa were brought back into the US from Canada by Canadian smugglers, who then abandoned them when the ice beneath them started to crack.
